Report a correction

The 90 questions on this site are written to the published blueprint, and question banks built that way have a characteristic failure mode: the stem reads fine, the distractors read fine, and the keyed answer or the explanation behind it is subtly wrong. At scale, nobody catches those except the people answering them. That is you, and it is why this page leads with corrections instead of with an address.

1. Name the question

   The first eight or ten words of the stem are enough to find it. Say which domain filter you had selected — Healthcare & Technology Environments, Clinical Informatics, Healthcare Information & Systems Management, or Management & Leadership — and the level, if you noticed it.

2. Say what is wrong, in one sentence

   The four that actually occur: the wrong option is keyed; the explanation argues for an option it did not key; two options are defensible and only one is accepted; or the fact was true and the handbook has since moved.

3. Give a source

   A section of the candidate handbook, a HIMSS page, or the body that issues the standard. A sourced report gets fixed in the next build. A report that says only “this is wrong” has to be researched from scratch and usually waits.

4. Say what should be there instead

   Optional, and it roughly doubles the speed. Even “C, not B — the handbook puts this under privacy and security” is enough to act on.

Stale facts count as corrections too. The eligibility routes, the recertification requirement and the retake rule all live in a handbook that gets revised, and this site will not notice a revision on its own. If a page here contradicts the current handbook, that is a bug of exactly the same kind as a wrong key.

What this desk cannot do

The most common message a site like this gets is one that should have gone to HIMSS or to Pearson VUE. Nothing sent here touches any of the following:

• Your CPHIMS application, or a ruling on whether your degree and years qualify
• Booking, rescheduling or cancelling a Pearson VUE appointment
• Your authorisation window, a score report, or a rescore
• A refund, a transfer or a fee question of any kind
• Continuing-education hours, recertification audits, or a name or address change on your record

How to reach us

There is no mailbox on this domain yet. Rather than print an address that bounces or a form that posts nowhere, this page says so plainly — a dead contact route is the one thing on a site like this that is worse than no contact route.

Two things follow. Write the report anyway and keep it: the shape above is exactly what the desk will ask for, and it will be published on this page the moment the mailbox opens. And in the meantime, treat every explanation on the site the way the about page asks you to — as reasoning to check, not a citation to memorise. That habit is worth more than any correction queue.
